The Little Block Party That Could.

Ever had one of those days when it feels like absolutely everything might go wrong—but somehow turns into something great instead? That was my weekend event in a nutshell.

I rolled in to the Northville neighborhood fully stocked and sparkling clean, ready to serve up ice-cold mojitos and draft beer - ready for a good time… But as the clock ticked closer to party time, I couldn’t shake the feeling of worry creeping in—almost no one had RSVP’d, and ominous weather was expected.

But then something magical happened.

A couple of curious neighbors wandered over, checking out my bar and snapping a few photos. Then another group joined, then some more and smiles started spreading. Suddenly, cars slowed down and stopped, families poured out, and laughter filled the air. Before I knew it, we had ourselves a full-blown block party!

Audrey, our amazing event host, didn’t want the little ones left out of the fun! She set up the cutest lemonade bar for the kids, complete with toppings from fruits to sprinkles. Yard games began being played—cornhole bags flew, bottle bash frisbees soard, and the bounce house became the center of pure joy, overflowing with giggles and squeals.

It felt incredible—seeing the neighborhood come alive, friends connecting, new friendships blooming, and everyone enjoying the atmosphere we’d created together.

That little bit of rain? It just brought us all a little closer together.

This weekend reminded me that sometimes, the best parties aren’t perfectly planned—they’re perfectly spontaneous. So here’s to rainy moments, community connections, drinks, and memories made together.

Until next time, cheers!
