Luna Belle’s First Gig of 2026 — An Easter Egg Hunt to Remember
by Luna Belle
Every season has a beginning—but some beginnings arrive with a little extra sparkle. My first event of 2026 wasn’t just a gathering. It was a full-on neighborhood celebration, the kind that reminds you how powerful a simple event can be when people show up for it. This time, it was an Easter egg hunt—designed for kids and adults alike—and from the moment I rolled in, I was worried it was not going to be well attended.
The morning greeted us with bright sunshine, the kind that makes everything feel alive again after a long Michigan winter. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves—it was still chilly. The kind of crisp air that keeps jackets zipped but spirits high. Honestly, perfect conditions for sipping something delicious while the kids run wild with baskets in hand.
Now here’s where things got interesting.
The host had planned for around 30 guests. A cozy, manageable crowd. Thoughtful. Intimate. Not planned, or hoped for, but as the event began, it quickly became clear… this was not going to be a 30-person kind of day.
Neighbors started arriving. Then more. And more. And suddenly, what was meant to be a small gathering turned into a full neighborhood turnout of over 100 people. It felt like the entire community decided, “Yep, this is where we’re spending our day.” And just like that, the energy shifted—from low key to fun
Thankfully, I came prepared… or at least I thought I did.
The taps started flowing early, and the crowd wasted no time finding their favorites. The Cheboygan Brewing Blood Orange Honey keg was the first to go—and when I say it went quickly, I mean it didn’t stand a chance. Crisp, citrusy, just the right touch of sweetness—it was the unofficial star of the show.
Right behind it? Mimosas. Once those started pouring, it was game over. Bright, bubbly, and perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon, they disappeared almost as fast as the keg.
Meanwhile, I made sure the younger crowd—and those keeping things alcohol-free—had something just as fun. Shirley Temples were a hit with the kids, of course. Sweet, fizzy, and topped with that signature cherry flair. And for the grown-ups who wanted the vibe without the buzz, the “Momosas” (non-alcoholic mimosas) kept everyone included in the celebration.
It’s one of my favorite things—making sure there’s something for everyone, no matter their age or preference. Out on the lawn, the egg hunt kicked off, and let me tell you—those kids meant business. Within what felt like minutes, every last egg had been found. Not a single one left behind. It was a flurry of baskets, laughter, and tiny footsteps racing across the grass and nearby woods.
As the hunt wrapped up, the party didn’t slow down. Music filled the air, keeping the energy alive as guests mingled, laughed, and soaked in the a sunny day outside. Conversations flowed just as easily as the drinks had earlier, and it became one of those events where no one seemed in a hurry to leave.
Even as supplies dwindled—until eventually, only the water station remained standing—the vibe never dipped. If anything, it made the day feel even more memorable. A true “we showed up and showed out” kind of celebration.
And standing there, watching it all unfold, I couldn’t help but feel a little proud. This Easter egg hunt wasn’t just successful—it was overflowing. With people, with laughter, with connection. And if this is how 2026 is starting? Oh, it’s going to be one incredible season.
Until the next one,
Luna Belle 🐴🥂🌷
