Classic Cars, Hot Weather, and One Tight Squeeze
This past weekend, I found myself at a truly unforgettable event—a client appreciation party hosted by none other than our own banking family, Community Choice Credit Union. And let me tell you, they sure know how to throw a party!
The venue? The incredible 248 Garage, a car club in Royal Oak right on Woodward Ave. Which just so happened to give us front-row seats to the 2025 Woodward Dream Cruise—a legendary celebration of classic cars, muscle machines, hot rods, and exotic beauties of all kinds. If it had wheels and a story, it rolled by us that day.
Everything about the event was top-tier. The garage was pristine, the music was upbeat, the food was delicious, and the vibe? Impeccable. The only hiccup?
I didn’t fit through the garage door. 😳
Yep. After arriving with all the confidence in the world, I quickly realized I wasn’t getting into the main venue as planned. Cue a few deep breaths, some serious teamwork, and a whole lot of creative thinking. The amazing crew at 248 Garage moved things around, cleared a new space, and—with Ray expertly maneuvering—I squeezed under another garage door by the smallest of margins. Everyone literally held their breath. It was a nail-biter, but we made it... Barely.
And good thing too, because once I was in place, it was go time.
The sun was out, the weather was HOT, and I served up drinks from the moment the event started. In fact, I served more water than anything else—which, honestly, was the real MVP of the day. But don’t worry, the cocktails were flowing too, and guests kept cool while soaking in the view of the Dream Cruise from the upper level of one of the coolest spots on Woodward Ave.
It was an honor to serve our partners at Community Choice Credit Union, and even more special to do so at 248 Garage. A venue that’s all about passion, polish, and horsepower—kinda like me.
What I learned?
Even when things don’t go exactly as planned, with the right team, a little quick thinking, and a whole lot of heart… the show rolls on. And so do I.
Until next time,
